OBC Rights

It’s Time to Champion Equality and Empowerment with OBC Rights!

OBC Rights, driven by the Society for the Rights of Backward Communities (SFRBC), is a statutory organization committed to the welfare and advancement of over 256 Other Backward Communities. With a mission to ensure fair access to opportunities, the organization works tirelessly to promote social, educational, and economic equality. Recognizing that reservation is a constitutional right and not a privilege, OBC Rights emphasizes that a country’s development is incomplete without the uniform progress of all its communities. The organization stands firm against political misuse of reservation policies and strives to uphold the rights of the backward communities.
Despite constitutional guarantees, many backward communities continue to face challenges in accessing their legitimate entitlements, such as the 27% reservation allocated for OBCs by the Government of India. In Tamil Nadu, where the State Backward Community list covers 137 communities, the reservation stands at 26.5%. However, due to lack of awareness and systemic inefficiencies, these provisions often remain unfulfilled. OBC Rights takes a proactive approach to address this disparity, educating the youth about their rights and empowering them to claim their rightful place in society. By providing critical information and creating platforms for dialogue, the organization aims to dismantle barriers to equality.
OBC Rights believes in fostering unity and collaboration to amplify its impact. Through its website and social media platforms, the organization spreads awareness and invites contributions from the community. With a strong network of over 5,000 volunteers and growing, it remains a vibrant force for change. By advocating for fair representation and equitable opportunities, OBC Rights ensures that the voices of backward communities are heard and respected. The movement is not just about reservation but about achieving dignity, equality, and social justice for all backward communities across the nation.
